Additional Support Needs (ASN)

Our Commitment to Inclusion

At Milne’s Primary, we are committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.

We recognise that children may require additional support for a variety of reasons, whether short-term or ongoing. Our aim is to ensure that barriers to learning are identified early and addressed through appropriate, coordinated support.

How We Support Pupils

Support is provided in line with Moray Council guidance and national legislation. We use a staged intervention approach to identify needs, plan support and review progress in partnership with families.

Support may include:

  • Differentiated learning in class

  • Targeted small-group or individual support

  • Partnership working with external agencies

  • Personalised learning plans where appropriate

Parents and carers are key partners in this process, and we encourage open communication at every stage.

Moray Council ASN Strategy

Milne’s Primary operates in accordance with Moray Council’s Additional Support Needs Strategy. This document outlines the authority’s framework for identifying, assessing and supporting children and young people with additional support needs.
